摘要

Abstract

Cotton is the most important economic crop in the world.Rapid advances have been made in cotton functional genomic research in the recent years.Along with the high throughput next sequencing technology applied in cotton research,diploid and allotetraploid cotton species genome sequencing were accomplished successively.Cotton genome re-sequencing and genome wide association study (GWAS) is spring up.Vast of functional genes were isolated and characterized.This review gave a glimpse on the progress made in cotton functional genomics research,highlighting the genome sequencing of Gossypium,and GWAS on the cultivated cotton species;and summarized the progress on the key functional genes in the development of fiber and gland biogenesis,and the genes played important roles in cotton resistant to drought and salinity stress.This review will help us to understand the genetic architecture of the agronomic traits of cotton,and provide theoretical foundation for cotton genetic improvement.
