Impact of Cognitive Function on the Auditory Hallucinations in First-episode Schizophrenia Patients
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of cognitive function on the auditory hallucinations in first-episode schizophrenia. Methods The enrolled participants were 90 cases of first-episode schizophrenia who received inpatient treatment in The Sixth People's Hospital of Hebei Province from November 2013 to February 2014.The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS,Chinese version) was used to assess the severity of mental symptoms.Level of auditory hallucinations was assessed by the scores of the third item, hallucinations (P3) in the Positive Scale. And the Matrics Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB,Chinese version) was employed to assess the neurocognitive function.Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to investigate the impact of cognitive function on the level of auditory hallucinations. Results The average scores of P3 were (3.5 ± 0.9).Pearson correlation analysis showed that, the scores of spatial span and letter-number span tests listed in MCCB for measuring the working memory domain were negatively correlated with the scores of P3 (P < 0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis found scores of all the items in the Positive Scale except P3 and those of spatial span test were the associated factors for scores of P3 (P < 0.05).Conclusion Working memory is significantly associated with the level of auditory hallucinations in first-episode schizophrenia.关键词
