Abstract
Classification of diseases is crucial to the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases.Over the past 30 years,every new revision of the disease classification has had a major impact on improving the level of treatment.Compared with the classification of clinical medicine,disease classification and other disciplines of stomatology,the classification of oral mucosal diseases is still at a low level.With the rapid development of stomatology,particularly of precision medicine,the existing classifications of cheilitis is no longer sufficient for clinical practice.We propose that the terminology of "chronic non-specific cheilitis (chronic cheilitis)" be abolished and a new cheilitis classification and typing system be established,following international principle of disease classification.For the cases where pathogen is clear,etiology should be applied in classification;for cases with unspecified etiology,pathology or pathogens should be applied.Should none of etiology,pathology or pathogens could be specified,clinical phenotype should be applied in classifications.关键词
