Abstract
Objective To compare the filling effect of different combinations of preparations and filling methods in apical isthmus.Methods Totally 60 extracted maxillary first premolars with single straight root and two canals were selected.The teeth were divided into four groups randomly (15 cases in each group).Group A:prepared with ProTaper and filled with continuous-wave condensation technique;group B:prepared with ProTaper and filled with cold lateral condensation technique;group C:prepared by step-back technique with K-files and filled with continuous-wave condensation technique;group D:prepared with K-files and filled with cold lateral condensation technique.Then roots were sectioned at lmm interval within 5mm from apex to coronal,which were observed under microscope and scored.The results were analyzed statistically with SPSS 17.0 software package.The testing criteria was α=0.05.Results Group C shows the worst filling effect in the apical isthmus (P ＜ 0.05),and there was no difference among the other groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The combination of K-files with continuous-wave condensation technique is not proper for the filling in apical isthmus.关键词
