Comparative study on the effect of Shikonin and Juglone on Tca8113 cell proliferation and apoptosis in human tongue squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract
Objective To compare the effects of Shikonin and Juglone on the proliferation and apoptosis of human tongue squamous cell carcinoma (Tca8113).Methods Inhibitory effect of Shikonin and Juglone was determined by MTT assay and recorded by cell growth curve,and apoptosis-induction effect of both medicines was tested by Hoechst 33258 staining.The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and t-test using SPSS19.0 software package.Results Shikonin and Juglone inhibited the growth of Tca8113 cell lines in a time-and dose-dependent manner,ranging from 5 to 25 μmol/L(P ＜ 0.05),and both medicines could induce apoptosis of Tca8113cell lines.The inhibition and induction effect of Shikonin on Tca8113 cell lines was better than Juglone at 15 μmol/L (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The effect of Shikonin on the proliferative inhibition and apoptosis induction of Tca8113 is better than Juglone.关键词
