Abstract
Objective To study the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and sex determining region Y box protein 2 (SOX2) and their clinical significance in colorectal carcinoma.Methods Immuno histochemical method was used to study the expression of EGFR and SOX2 in tumor tissues and adjacent tissues of 55 patients with colorectal carcinoma in our hospital.Positive and negative expression of EGFR,SOX2 were evaluated by staining intensity and the number of cells,Spearman rank correlation analysis was conducted to observe the the relationship between clinical characteristics of EGFR and SOX2 in colorectal carcinoma,and their pathological features.Results The positive rates of EGFR (+)and SOX2 (+)in tumor tissues were significantly higher than the adjacent tissues (P ＜ 0.05).The positive expression of EGFR and SOX2 were significantly different in different stages of Dukes,differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P ＜ 0.05).While there were no significant difference in EGFR and SOX2 in different sex,age and tumor location (P ＞ 0.05).Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that the expression of EGFR was positively correlated with the expression of SOX2 in colorectal carcinoma tissues (r =0.674,P =0.000).Conclusion The expressions of EGFR and SOX2 in colorectal carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal tissues were significantly different.The expression level was associated with the stage of Dukes,the degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis of CRC.关键词
