摘要

Abstract

Good control of the excavation face stability during shield tunneling could lower the impact on the surrounding environment.The deformation mechanisms and stability analysis of the excavation face in soft clay are still based on experience.Centrifuge model tests are used to study the excavation face stability of shield tunneling in clay stratum in Shanghai.The changes of earth pressures before the excavation face and the relationship between support stress and ground settlements are investigated in the tests.The ultimate support stress value for active and passive deformation and the reference ranges for both situations are suggested.The tests results might hopefully be of great guidance to stabilize the shield excavation face during construction in clay stratum.
