Study on metacognitive ability status quo and its influencing factors of undergraduate nursing students

Abstract
Objective:To probe into the metacognitive ability status quo of undergraduate nursing students and analyze the influencing factors.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 460 undergraduate nursing students in a medical college in Changsha by using the metacognitive ability scale,the emotional intelligence scale and the self-regulated learning ability questionnaire of nursing students.Results:The total score of metacognitive ability of undergraduate nursing students was(79.56±13.48),at the middle level.The total score of emotional intelligerce was (75.50 ± 17.43),the total score of self-regulated learning ability was(67.89± 12.81).There was a positive correlation among metacognitive ability,emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning ability,two-two(r=0.340~0.907,P<0.01).Grades,whether they were student leaders or not,after class study time,academic stress,emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning ability had influence on metacognitive ability(R2 =0.490,F=43.165,P<0.001).Conclusions:Nursing students should take an active part in the activities organized by class,expand their extracurricular study time,explore effective learning methods and learning strategies in order to alleviate the pressure of studies,enhance the development of self-regulated learning ability and emotional intelligence,promote metacognitive ability.关键词
