Oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural catalyzed by nano metal oxide
摘要
Abstract
In order to explore the oxidation path of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(5-HMF)and the catalytic performance of metal oxide for 5-HMF oxidation, a series of nanoscale metal oxides were synthesized, such as ZnO, CuO, SnO2, Fe2O3, Co3O4and Fe3O4. The oxidation path of 5-HMF was investigated in an alkaline condition using hydrogen peroxide as oxidant, and the products were analyzed by HPLC. The redults showed that 5-HMF is prone to the Cannizzaro reaction in the alkaline condition.And CuO had the best catalytic activity,4.2% yield of 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid(FDCA)and 26.2% yield of HMFCA were obtained when the amount of catalyst used is 1/10 of the mass of 5-HMF and the amount of hydrogen peroxide is 2.5 mL.At the same time,the yield of FDCA increases with the augment of catalyst and hydrogen peroxide.关键词
