SWOT Analysis of Domestic Turmeric Industrial Chain on Basis of Patent Navigation

Abstract
Objective:To present the results of a SWOT analysis of domestic turmeric industrial chain on the basis of Chinese patents,US patents and PCT patents.Methods:Based on searching Patsnap global patent database,patent navigation and SWOT analysis were used to show a comparison of Chinese patents,USA patents,and PCT patents in the field of turmeric.Results:Strengths:Domestic turmeric industry has stepped into a technology developing era with advantages in the fields of pharmaceutical compositions and pharmaceutic preparation,the technological innovation of institutes and colleges was active.Weaknesses:Technologies of domestic turmeric industry were scattered,the quality of domestic patents was low and the lack of patent protection of domestic turmeric relative products.Opportunities:The widespread use of turmeric were all over the world and a fair policy environment were for the development of domestic TCM industry.Threats:Foreign enterprises almost occupied the overseas market of turmeric relative products.The multinational enterprises had patent layout in China.Conclusion:It is suggested to take global market and policy environment as opportunities to maximum advantages and to raise international competitiveness of domestic turmeric industry.关键词
