The Inverter Dead-Time Compensation of Surface Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive System Based on Ripple Current Calculation

Abstract
For the voltage source inverter, the rising and falling of inverter output voltage can't be realized immediately due to the existence of parasitic capacitor of power switching device. However, for the conventional dead-time compensation method, the effects of parasitic capacitor on dead-time compensation is not taken into consideration, and therefore, results in a unsatisfactory compensation effects, moreover, it exists the technical deficiency of over compensation because the current zero crossing point is difficult to judge. Therefore, the dead-time effect allowing for the influences of parasitic capacitor is first analyzed in this paper, then, for the surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SMPMSM) drive system, the detailed equations are deduced to calculate the inverter output ripple current, the inverter dead-time compensation method based on the calculated ripple current is then proposed. Finally, for SMPMSM drive systems with different dead-time compensation methods, the technical advantages of proposed dead-time compensation method is validated by system modeling, system simulation and experiment researches.关键词
