Reliability and Validity Test of Chinese Version of the Experience of Close Relationship in Adolescents

Abstract
Objective:The goal of this research was to assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Experience of Close Relationship in adolescents.Methods:A sample of 561 Chinese adolescents between the age of 11-17 (M=13.94,SD=1.53) was chosen as participants,and 80 of them were randomly selected to be retested(4 weeks interval).The Chinese version of Social Anxiety Scale for Children and Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale were selected as criterion measurement.Results:Cronbach's α reliability coefficients were 0.914 for the Attachment Anxiety scale and 0.871 for the Attachment Avoid scale.Test-retest reliability across 4 weeks was 0.755 for Attachment Anxiety and 0.721 for Attachment Avoid.The results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the data was acceptable for two factor correlated model.In the Chinese version of the Experience of Close Relationship,Attachment Anxiety was positively correlated with social anxiety,and negatively correlated with self-esteem;Attachment Avoid was negatively correlated with social anxiety,and positively correlated with self-esteem.Conclusion:The Chinese version of Experience of Close Relationship can be used to access the attachment style in Chinese adolescents.关键词
