Clinical Observation on the Correction of Epicanthus with Transverse Incision and Pouch Incision

Abstract
Objective To investigate the curative effect of transverse incision combined with pouch incision in the correction of epicanthus. Methods Clinical data of 50 patients with epicanthus treated with transverse incision and pouch incision correction were collected. The preoperative and postoperative palpebral fissure length (HLFL), innercanthal distance (ICD), HLFL/ICD, recovery at1 month and 3 months after surgery were analyzed retrospectively. Results Patients' postoperative HLFL (28.58±1.04) mm, HLFL/ICD (0.87±0.04) mm were significantly higher than those before operation (23.90±1.61)mm, (0.66±0.07)mm, postoperative ICD (33.36±0.89) mm was significantly higher than that before operation (39±1.13) mm (P<0.05). The incidence rates of scar contracture at 1 month and 3 months after surgery were 2.00% and 0.00% respectively (P>0.05). The incidence of scar hyperplasia at 3 months after surgery was significantly lower than that at 1 month after surgery (0.00% vs 6.00%) (P<0.05). Conclusion Transverse incision combined with pouch incision to correct epicanthus shows efficacy significantly,at the same time, through close cooperation with nursing, it promotes the rehabilitation of patients and also reached relatively better aesthetic effect.关键词
