Abstract
Objective To report difficulties, success rate and postoperative hearing in endoscopic myringoplasty with different grafting materials. Methods The study included 42 cases of endoscopic myringoplasty using different grating materials, including tragus perichondrium (n=9), thin cartilage and perichondrium complex (n=17), full-thick-ness cartilage (n=9), and artificial dura mater (n=7). These grafting materials were compared regarding operation diffi-culties, perforation repair success rate and postoperative hearing results. Results Postoperative re-perforation occurred in one of the nine cases using tragus perichondrium, but none among cases using the other three types of grafting materi-als. The time needed to place the graft was shorter with full thickness cartilage and artificial dura mater than with the other two types of grafting materials. Artificial dura showed good bio-compatibility. The rate of hearing improvement af-ter surgery was 77.8%-100%. All grafting materials produced good outcomes with no significant differences among the four types of materials. Conclusions Full-thickness cartilage and artificial dura are good grafting materials for endoscop-ic myringoplasty, with artificial dura allowing minimally invasive operation and best postoperative result.关键词
