Abstract
In order to overcome the problem of the decrease in the sensitivity of longitudinal current differential protec?tion or even protection failure when an internal ground fault with high resistance occurs on heavy load lines,zero-se?quence current differential protection is introduced as a supplement to the current differential protection in the tradition?al protection scheme. However,zero-sequence differential protection does not have phase-selection capability,and it may refuse to operate when a ground fault with high resistance occurs on open-phase operation lines. To solve this prob?lem,it is suggested that longitudinal tapped impedance(LTI)protection can be served as a supplement to the full cur?rent differential protection to constitute a new protection scheme based on its characteristics,which overcomes the prob?lem induced by zero-sequence current differential protection. The new protection scheme can act quickly and it has natu?ral phase selection capability. Moreover,it is not affected by open-phase operation mode,and does not need to compen?sate the capacitive current. When a ground fault with high resistance occurs,the new protection scheme can operate reli?ably and sensitively. Simulation results verify the correctness and validity of the new scheme .关键词
