摘要

Abstract

In order to improve accuracy of detecting deteriorated insulators using infrared thermal images, a comparative analysis of infrared detection in non-detection areas based on electric-network method is proposed. According to voltage distribution of insulator strings and heating model of the insulator, this paper compared the non-detection areas with infrared thermal images under ideal conditions and practical values, taking measurement errors into consideration and conducting an analysis of influence of the insulators in non-detection areas on temperature rise of insulator strings. Simulation and experiment proved that range of infrared thermal image detection in the non-detection areas is determined by insulator position in the string and measurement errors. Also, there is a significant temperature rise of insulator string if the insulator at ends is in non-detection areas. Based on the proposed regulation, measures of reducing the non-detection detection areas with infrared thermal image provide reference and method for insulator deterioration detection.
