Molten Salt Electrochemical Reduction of Zirconium Dioxide as Platinum Catalyst Carrier for Reduction of Methanol and CO
摘要
Abstract
A simple and effective electrochemical route was adopted to prepare highly stable and catalytic activity support materials for Pt catalysts for methanol catalytic by the partial metallization of ZrO2 in molten salts at 700℃.The composition and structural characteristics of the catalyst were investigated,and the electrochemical behaviors of the catalyst were examined.The results show that the carrier produced by moltensalts electrolysis can significantly enhance catalytic activity of Pt nanoparticles towards the oxidation of CO and methanol in an acidic medium.Two mechanism are accounted for the enhanced performance;one is the electronic effects,namely the electron transfer from Zr to Pt suppresses the poisoning CO adsorption on Pt sites and weakens the Pt=CO bond;the other is the synergistic effect between the carrier and Pt atom,which can facilitate the feasible removal and oxidation of poisoning intermediate CO.关键词
