Voltage Control Strategy for STATCOM Used in Wind Farms

Abstract
Considering the characteristics of the mathematical model of static synchronous compensator(STATCOM), such as multi-variable,nonlinearity and strong coupling,nonlinear PI control and feed-forward decoupling control are combined in the voltage control strategy for double closed loop in STATCOM. The nonlinear PI control based on track?ing differentiator is used in the outer voltage control at the point of common coupling(PCC)of STATCOM and the DC-side voltage control of STATCOM converter,thus the goal of quick response and good robustness is achieved. The feed-forward decoupling control is adopted in the inner current control of STATCOM converter to solve the coupling problem between the active and reactive components of output current. Simulation results indicate that the control strategy pro?posed in this paper has excellent control performance under both the fixed and changing operation conditions,which can satisfy the requirements of applications.关键词
