摘要

Abstract

Electrical treeing is a significant feature of the insulation deterioration in XLPE.In order to elucidate the mechanism of grounded DC tree with positive and negative polarity,respectively,we analyzed tree growth characteristics and developing configuration.In addition,we introduced fractal dimension and the change rule of the parameter could quantitatively describe the notable discrepancies of the tree growth mechanism with different polarities.We also presented electrical channel partial voltage theory and tree point shielding mechanism to explain the electrical tree growth characteristics.It was found that polarity effect had a remarkable impact on the grounded DC tree.The growth rate had a burgeoning increase and erosion channel color was lighter under the positive environment,thus being obvious sparse-branch structure.However,the propagation direction presented the dispersion and tree tunnel was darker,eventually forming dense-branch configuration inversely.The results can provide theoretical references for the similar tests hereafter and HVDC cable safe operation potentially.
