Management of Undersea Feature Names in New Zealand and Its Enlightenment for China
摘要
Abstract
The New Zealand Geographic Board (NZGB)is a statutory body of government operat-ing under the New Zealand Geographic Board (NgāPou Taunaha o Aotearoa)Act 2008.The Act makes provision for the official naming of places in New Zealand,retains the New Zealand Geo-graphic Board as the national place naming authority.New Zealand published Standard for undersea feature names NZGBS 6000 on 6 September 2016.This standard sets out the NZGB's cri-teria and principles for naming undersea features.This standard supersedes the interim standard for undersea feature names:NZGBS 6000 published on 13 March 2009.The work of China's un-dersea feature names started relatively late.Through the study of the relevant institutions,the standardization of the policies and guidelines of New Zealand,lessons were drew from New Zeal-and and the relevant suggestion for China's undersea feature names were put forward,inclding formulating uniform criterions and standards for undersea feature names;expanding the scope of marine investigation,and carefully studying the work of submitting name proposals to SCUFN.关键词
