Abstract
Objective:This study aimed to investigate the frequency of maxillary and mandibular canines with double root canals by cone-beam computed tomography( CBCT) . Methods:One thousand and one patients receiving CBCT scan at Jingzhou Central Hospital were recruited into this study. Details of name,gender,age,tooth position and root canals were re-corded. Then,the canal configurations were investigated and classified according to Vertucci' s classification. Results:The results showed that 1.0％ of maxillary canines had two root canals. The frequency of Vertucci type Ⅱand Ⅲcanal configurations in maxillary canines was 0.6％ and 0.4％,respectively. The frequency of mandibular canines with one root canal was 91.5％and with two root canals was 8.5％. The most common canal configuration found in two-canaled mandibular canines was type Ⅲ(5.6％),followed by type Vand type Ⅱ. In mandibular canines,females had a higher incidence of double root canals than males(P<0.05). Conclusion:Maxillary canines were commonly with one root canal. Mandibular canines could been with a higher prevalence of canal variation than maxillary canines.关键词
