Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of 2.26 mg/mL fluoride varnish(Duraphat)applications on enamel remineralization after orthodontic treatment with fixed appliance. Methods:The study was designed as a random, double-blind,placebo-controlled clinical trial. In accordance with inclusion criteria,among 110 orthodontic patients were randomly assigned to a test group or a placebo group with topical application of either Duraphat or a placebo every month after orthodontic treatment during first 6 months. The subjects were measured by the laser fluorescence DIAGNOdent Pen at baseline, and at 3rdmonth and 6th month thereafter. Results:DIAGNOdent Pen rendings of WSL was significantly lower in test group than in placebo group at 3rd month,5.52 vs 1.34(P<0.05). DIAGNOdent Pen rendings of WSL was significantly lower in tast group than in placebo group at 6th month,7.12 vs 1.41(P<0.01). Conclusion:The effect of 2.26 mg/mL fluoride varnish( Duraphat) used on enamel remineralization after orthodontic treatment was remarkable.关键词
