摘要

Abstract

Metallic implant, as a common repair material for orthopedics, has good biocompatibility and mechanical strength, but is unable to bring about osteogenesis. The implant surface will be greatly activated by modification with biologically functionalized coatings, and consequently come out with the desired osteointegration. Electrochemical deposition, as a simple, mild approach for coating preparation, has been utilized in bio-coatings. This paper reviewed recent development of biologically functionalized coatings prepared by electrochemical deposition, and introduced the mechanisms and the existing problems of the coatings. Also, the clinical application of electrochemical deposition aided biologically functionalized coatings was prospected.
