Abstract
An improved Fenton process based on iron sludge recycling was developed to solve the problems,such as high sludge production and high treatment costs,faced in the traditional Fenton process.The improved Fenton process contained two parts:traditional Fenton process for wastewater treatment and iron sludge recycling process.The iron sludge recycling process included the acidification process and reduction process.The results showed that the acid dosage and the supernatant concentration of total iron in the acidification process can be estimated by the iron sludge concentration.In the reduction process,the optimal dosage of iron powder was 1 ∶ 1 relative to the supernatant concentration of total iron and the concentration of ferrous was 1.5 times as much as the supernatant concentration of total iron after acidification.Furthermore,the remaining iron powder could be reused in the next reduction process.The regenerated catalyst from iron sludge exhibited the same catalytic effect as FeSO4 in the Fenton process.The improved Fenton process can be applied to the advanced treatment of chemical industrial wastewater and the COD value of the effluent can meet the standard of 60 mg · L-1.Compared with the traditional Fenton process,the improved Fenton process can reduce 60% of sludge discharging and 40% of operational costs.关键词
