Pharmaceutical wastewater advanced treatment by Fe0 Fenton-like process

Abstract
Zero-valent iron was used as the catalyst in the Fenton's reaction for the advanced treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater.The effects of H2O2 dosage,Fe0 dosage,pH value,and acid modification of Fe0 were studied.Results showed that COD removal of 20% was sufficient for B/C ratio improvement.The best operation conditions were as following:pH of 3.0 to 3.5,H2O2/initial COD of 1 ∶ 6,Fe0/H2O2 of 4 ∶ 1 (molar ratio),and reaction time of 2 h.Fe0 showed good reuse performance and the catalytic performance could be maintained after 5 times.The reaction process and mechanism were further discussed.The results can provide a reference for the advanced treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater.关键词
