Effect of motivational interviewing on health knowledge and blood pressure control in elderly hypertensive patients

Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of motivational interviewing on the health and blood pressure control in elderly hypertensive patients.Methods A total of 86 elderly patients with hypertension in our hospital from June to November 2016 were randomly divided into observation group (n =43) and the control group (n =43).The control group was received routine nursing care,and the observation group was given motivational interview education,and the health knowledge and blood pressure control were compared between the two groups after intervention for 3 months.Results The knowledge of the disease,medication,symptom management,diet and other aspects of health knowledge score after 3 months of intervention in the observation group were higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).The systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure and blood pressure in the observation group were lower than that in the control group at 3 months after operation,and the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Motivational interviewing can improve the mastery of health knowledge,reduce systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure,and improve the level of blood pressure control.关键词
