社会网络对农户节水灌溉技术采用的影响: 同质性还是异质性?
Effects of social network on water-saving irrigation technology adoption: homogeneity or heterogeneity ?

Abstract
Actively promoting and adopting water-saving irrigation technology is an effective way to realize sustainable agricultural development in arid and semi-arid areas in western China. Based on a survey data of farmers in Ganzhou District of Zhangye City, Gansu Province and applying the Probit model, this paper analyzed the effect of homogeneous ties and heterogeneous ties on technology adoption, explored the mechanism of homogeneous ties and heterogeneous ties on technology adoption. Results show that: 1) 80.9% of farmers have adopted water-saving irrigation technology, 19.1% of farmers have not adopted it, and among those who adopted water-saving irrigation technology, 67.8% of the farmers chose to use low-pressure pipe irrigation and 21.1% of farmers chose drip irrigation technology, while the adoption rates for sprinkler irrigation, micro-irrigation, and infiltration irrigation are relatively low; 2) social network has a significant positive impact on the adoption of water-saving irrigation technology, but the influences of homogeneous ties and heterogeneous ties on technology adoption are different: the heterogeneous ties has more significant impacts than the homogeneous ties; and 3) the age of the household head, family size, non-agricultural employment ratio, cooperative participation, and government promotion have significant impacts on the adoption of water-saving irrigation technology. This paper also found that strengthening communication with heterogeneous population can help improve the adoption rates. Therefore, this paper provides the following suggestions: to cultivate and establish heterogeneous ties of farmers, to actively develop rural professional cooperative organizations, and to increase the policy support and capital investment on promotion of agricultural technology.关键词
