Abstract
Objective To explore the impacts of HP ventilation on the lung function, exercise tolerance and rehabilitation effect of patients with stabilized chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) complicated with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 86 patients with stabilized COPD complicated with respiratory failure were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and a study group (n=43,respectively).The control group was treated with conventional therapy, while the study group was treated with HP ventilation. The lung functions [the forced vital capacity (FVC),the first second forced vital capacity (FEV1) and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV)],exercise tolerance, modified MRC respiratory distress index (mMRC) and rehabilitation effect [auxiliary ventilator scores and St.George's respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) scores] before and after the treatment were compared. Results After the treatment, the FVC,FEV1 and MVV in the two groups were much higher than those before the treatment, the mMRC scores, auxiliary ventilator scores and SGRQ scores decreased greatly,six-minute walking distance was markedly prolonged, and the changes in indexes after the treatment in the study group were more obvious than those in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion HP ventilation has significant effects in the treatment of stabilized COPD complicated with respiratory failure, and can effectively improve the dyspnea, lung function and exercise tolerance of patients, ensuring good rehabilitation effect,so it is worthy of popularization application.关键词
