Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of postauricular injection of methylprednisolone (MP) in the treatment of severe sensorineural deafness (SSD) and the impacts on serum nitrogen oxide (NOx) and C-reactive protein(CRP) levels.Methods A total of 126 patients with SSD admitted to our hospital were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group (n=63,respectively).The two groups were treated with basic therapies,such as improvement of the inner ear microcirculation,reduction of fibrinogen and trophic nerve drugs.On this basis,the control group was additionally treated with MP by intravenous injection and the observation group with MP by postauricular injection.The post-treatment hearing,effects and serum NOx and CRP levels between the two groups were compared.Results After the treatment,the hearing improvement at 125-250 Hz and 125-500 Hz bands was significantly greater than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05),and the overall response rate (ORR) was much higher than that in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).Before the treatment,the serum NOx and CRP levels showed no significant difference between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05);after the treatment,the serum NOx levels increased significantly,CRP levels decreased significantly (P ＜ 0.05),and the improvement in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The treatment of SSD with MP by postauricular injection can effectively improve the hearing of patients and the ORR.This may be correlated to the effective regulation of NO and CRP levels.关键词
