A Novel Nine-phase Modular Hybrid-excited Flux-switching Linear Machine

Abstract
A novel nine-phase modular hybrid-excited flux-switching linear machine (M-HEFSLM) was proposed. Based on the detail investigation of motor topologies and operating principles, the slot/pole combination was optimized, and then the electromagnetic performances of nine-phase M-HEFSLM with optimal slot/pole combination were analyzed, which were verified by the results of the 3D FEA model. By comparison with three-phase M-HEFSLM, it was proved that the nine-phase M-HEFSLM exhibits better performance, particularly on thrust force density and fault-tolerant capability under phase fault conditions. Finally, for easy installation and disassemble, an effective method for reducing the open-circuit normal force was proposed. It can be seen that this proposed nine-phase M-HEFSLM has many merits such as high thrust force density, good fault-tolerant, adjustable magnetic fields, simple structure and so on, so that it has good application prospect.关键词
