Abstract
After the global financial crisis in 2008,the new economy revolving around scientific and technological innovation,information technology and domestic consumption are growing while traditional industrial cities are confronted with unsustainable expansion,transformation crisis and difficulty in attracting new functions.How to apply the new economy model to facilitate restructuring is a key to successful urban transformations in such areas.A study on the spatial rationales and characteristics of new economy development reveals that new round of urban development should focus more on value-based innovation,regional development,ecosystem,high-quality services,functional diffusion at the regional scale and the concentration of featured points,and spatial complexity at the micro level in terms of quality and share.On this basis,taking Xiangtan,a traditional industrial city,as an example,this paper explores the advantages of Xiangtan in innovation,regional functional network,ecological and cultural value and spatial quality.The paper points out that Xiangtan should focus on the development of smart manufacturing,consumption operations,tourism and livability.Finally,corresponding spatial strategies are proposed.关键词
