Abstract
Objective:To understand the off-label drug use in the pediatric inpatient cases in our hospital,promote children's medication safety and provide the basis for normalizing the off-label drug use.Methods:One hundred and four inpatient cases (8.13％) were randomly selected in the pediatric inpatients from December 2016 to February 2017.The children's basic information was retrieved from the electronic medical records system.The admission notes were referred to and the medication orders were reviewed in order to determine whether off-label drug use based on drug instructions and pharmaceutical knowledge.The type and quantity of offlabel drug use were statistically analyzed.Results:One hundred and four inpatient cases included 1,739 medical orders and involved 18 categories and 81 kinds of drugs.There were 412 off-label drug use orders (23.69％).In the off-label drug use,antiviral drugs,vitamins and mineral substance and respiratory drugs were mostly.The proportions of the overdosage,the superfit population,and superfit age of administration were the top 3 (33.98％,25.24％ and 19.42％).Conclusion:There are off-label drug uses in pediatric inpatient medical orders.We shall gradually improve the instructions for children's medication information,strengthen the supervision and management of the use of drugs and promote safe and rational use of drugs in pediatrics.关键词
