Comparison of 18F-FDG PET/CT and CT in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis in gastric carcinoma

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in the diagnosis of lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer.Methods 40 cases of gastric cancer admitted in our hospital from June 2013 to March 2016 were enrolled in this study.Routine CT examination was performed firstly,then 18F-FDG PET/CTexamination was performed,the results were confirmed by surgery and postoperative pathological tissue biopsy.The positive diagnosis rates of perigastdc lymph node metastasis and distant lymph node metastasis of two kinds of methods were compared,the number and size of lymph nodes were recorded.Results The positive rate of perigastric lymph node metastasis and distant lymph node metastasis of 18F-FDG PET/CT were significantly higher than those of routine CT (P＜0.05).The number of lymph nodes of 18F-FDG PET/CT was more than that of routine CT,the size of lymph nodes was less than that of routine CT (P＜0.05).Conclusion 18F-FDG PET/CT can be used to check perigastric and distant lymph nodes in patients with gastric cancer,improve the positive rate of examination,especially effective for small lesions.关键词
