Abstract

Fluorescence quantitative PCR was applied to quantify eight typical antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) including tetA,tetC,tetM,tetO,tetQ,tetW,sul1 and sul2 in wastewaters from ten typical large-scale pig farms in Jiaxing city.The results showed that all of the eight ARGs were detectible in the wastewater from the ten large-scale pig farms.The absolute content was 2.1 × 105 ~7.6 × 107 copies/mLof tetA,9.5× 103~2.4×106 copies/mL of tetC,2.9× 105~2.0×108 copies/mL of tetM,9.4×105~8.7×107 copies/mL of tetO,6.3× 106 ~5.0× 108 copies/mL of tetQ,1.1 × 106 ~5.0× 109 copies/mL of tetW,5.9× 106~2.2× 108 copies/mL of sul1 and 1.4× 106 ~7.1 × 108 copies/mL of sul2,respectively.The above results indicated that large-scale pig farm is one of the principal contributors to ARGs pollution in Jiaxing.
