Numerical Simulation on Thermal—hydraulic Performance of a Zigzag Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger

Abstract
Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger(PCHE) is a competitive candidate in clean energy areas such as nuclear power plant,solar power station and LNG station due to the advantage of high efficiency,compact structure,high temperature and high pressure resistance. In this paper,the thermal—hydraulic performance of a Zigzag PCHE is studied by establishing 3-D heat transfer model,and the model is validated by comparing with experiment results.The influence of channel angle(θ) on velocity and temperature distribution is investigated.(Nu/Nu0)/(f/f0) is proposed to valuate overall performance of PCHE,and channel angle and flow condition are optimized synergistically.It is found that,at θ=15°、25°,the overall performance of PCHE is excellent when Re≥250,and θ=15°is the best angel of bend. The overall performance of PCHE at θ=30°、45° is unsatisfactory, especially at θ=45°.The result can provide significant reference to optimal design of PCHE.关键词
