摘要

Abstract

Safflower cake is a traditional dye made from fresh safflower petals, which was an important natural dye in ancient China, Japan and other countries.However, with the emergence and popularity of chemical dyes in the 19th century, traditional dye safflower cake gradually lost is application value and its production technology also disappeared.The paper organizes and analyzes relevant records in the ancient documents in China, and compares it with the making method of safflower cake in Yamagata-ken in Japan nowadays.The research indicates that the production technology of traditional dye safflower cake can be restored to the maximum degree through the analysis of ancient documents, on-the-spot investigation and practical operation.The purpose of research is to apply and revive the technology in the present age.
