Abstract

In order to solve the problem that the thickness of chitosan membrane can not be controlled in the preparation process, using chitosan (CS) as the matrix, and immobilizing L-arginine on the CS molecules, L-arginine grafted chitosan CS-L-Arginine (CA) was prepared and scraped membrane on the preservative film and polyester film respectively. The film forming ability and the thickness, tensile strength and antibacterial property of CA membrane were discussed. The results show that with 2%glacial acetic acid solution as dispersant, 10 g/L sorbitol as plasticizer, the mass fraction of CA is 5%, the thickness of CA membrane scraped on the polyester substrate film is uniform 0.03 mm, tensile strength is 389 cN/cm, the removal rate of Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions is 74.53%and 69.36%, and superior to ones of the CA membrane scraped on the preservative substrate film;the antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are as high as 90.23%and 93.37%, respectively. It illustrates that the excellent adsorption properties of CA powder on Cu2+and Ni2+and high effec-tive antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are maintained after film forma-tion.
