Novel progress on the prevention and treatment of trachoma
摘要
Abstract
Trachoma is a type of contagious keratoconjunctivitis,with Chlamydia trachomatis as the main source of infection,which is one of the major causes of infectious blindness.Compared with the developed countries such as Europe and the United States,the incidence of trachoma in other developing countries is even higher.The World Health Organization (WHO) established a simplified grading system (TF,TI,TS,TT,CO) for trachoma identification and naming in order to prevention and control of trachoma.Meanwhile,according to the clinical characteristics of trachoma," SAFE" strategy has been put forward.And this article will give a brief review for the prevention and treatment of trachoma in recent years based on the " SAFE" strategy of WHO.关键词
