Abstract
Objective To investigate the development trend and distribution equity of general practitioners (GPs) in China during 2012-2015,so as to provide an evidence for the development of general medicine and the formulation and enaction of related policies.Methods From China's Health Statistics Yearbook 2013,China's Health And Family Planning Statistical Yearbook 2014,China's Health And Family Planning Statistical Yearbook 2015,China's Health And Family Planning Statistical Yearbook 2016,we obtained the number of GPs in China and each of its regions from 2012 to 2015,and analyzed the status and development trend of GPs distribution during the period,and explored its equity by using Lorenz curves and Gini coefficients.Results From 2012 to 2015,the total number of GPs,the number of GPs per 10 000 population,the number of GPs per 100 square kilometers of area in China increased by 78 855,0.57,0.83,respectively,with an annual growth rate of 19.8％,19.4％,19.9％,respectively.Lorenz curve analyses found that,during this period,the equity for GPs distribution by population was high,but it was low when by area.From 2012 to 2015,the Gini coefficients for the distribution of GPs by population were 0.31,0.29,0.26,0.25,respectively,while those based on area were 0.74,0.72,0.72,0.72,respectively.Conclusion The team building for GPs in China is developing rapidly in general,but there still exist inter-region differences in the balance and equity of its development.The distribution equity of GPs is good by population,but poor by area.Hence,governments at all levels should adopt comprehensive strategies to improve the distribution equity of GPs in all regions.关键词
