Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of vitamin D combined with Saccharomyces boulardii on recurrent respiratory tract infection (RRI)in children. Methods We enrolled 101 cases of RRI treated in Department of Pediatrics,Jinhua Maternal and Child Health Hospital from February 2015 to February 2016,and divided them into the control group (50 cases)and observation group (51 cases)in accordance with the random number table. In addition to the conventional therapy for RRI,the control group received aqueous vitamin D oral drops, and the observation group received aqueous vitamin D oral drops and Saccharomyces boulardii sachets. Both groups were treated for 3 courses of treatment. The levels of serum immunoglobulin 〔immunoglobulin G (IgG),immunoglobulin A (IgA),immunoglobulin M (IgM)〕,25 - hydroxyvitamin D 3〔25 - (OH)D 3〕,interleukin 4 (IL - 4),interferon gamma (IFN - γ)were measured before and after treatment. And the outcome at 1 year after treatment was observed. Results There were no significant differences in serum IgG,IgA and IgM levels between the two groups before treatment (P > 0. 05). After treatment, the serum IgG and IgA levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0. 05),but the serum IgM levels in both groups were still similar(P > 0. 05). There were no significant differences in serum levels of 25 - (OH)D 3 ,IL - 4 and IFN - γ between the two groups before treatment (P > 0. 05). After treatment, compared with the control group, the observation group had higher serum 25 - (OH)D 3 and IFN - γ levels but lower IL - 4 levels (P < 0. 05). One - year follow - up observation showed that, the clinical outcome of the observation group was better than that of the control group (u = - 2. 799,P = 0. 005). Conclusion The conventional therapy for RRI plus vitamin D combined with Saccharomyces boulardii can effectively improve the immune function and the conditions of children with RRI.关键词
