Abstract
Objective To analyzing distribution and variation trend of voluntary blood donors in Xianyang district from 2009 to 2016,including age and gender distribution,collection sites and donation types.We hope this study would help improving approaches recruiting voluntary blood donors.Methods A total of 367 889 blood donation records during 2009-2016 in Xianyang area were collected.We analyzed distribution and variation trend regarding age,gender,collection locations and donation types by a through statistical analysis.Results The results concludes that young donors (≤25 years old) accounted for 63.02％ of total donation cases in 2009 and this ratio dropped every year to 28.58％ in 2015 with a slight rise to 30.39％ in 2016.Percentage of middle-aged donors (26～35years old and 36～45 years old) increased slightly every year and reached its peak in 2013 then slightly decreased in 2014 and 2015;The percentage of elder donors (46 ～ 55 years old and 56～60 years old) showed consistent increase from 2009 to 2016.For gender distribution,male donors exceeded female donors in all age groups,where the lowest proportion (57.80％) occurred in the young donor group (≤25 years old) while the highest ratio (71.86％) fell into the 26～35 years old group.As for collection sites,the youngest (≤25 years old) and the oldest (56～ 60 years old) donors from urban area exceeded those in countryside.However,the number of countryside do nors beat the urban one in the rest age groups with minor edges.Conclusion The age composition of voluntary blood donors varies with time in Xianyang area.Most obviously,the young blood donor ratio (≤ 25 years old) decreased dramatically while elder donor percentage (46～60 years old) increased steadily every year,This result suggests that blood donation recruiting strategy should be adjusted in time,and more attention be drawn to younger donors aging between 18 to 25 years old.关键词
