Abstract

The characteristics of sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation (S-ANAMMOX) under inorganic carbon condition were studied using anaerobic granule sludge in a circular flow anaerobic reactor.The results showed that:In 1-124 d of operation,the phenomenon of simultaneous ammonium and sulfate removal emerged from the 37th d,producing NO2-,NO3-in reaction process,N2 and elemental sulfate in the end,and the removal rate of NH4+-N and SO42-achieved up to 92.47% and 92.47%,respectively;The NH4+-N removal rate and nitrogen loss rate could be increased with high inlet nN ∶ ns;This oxidation-reduction process of ammonia and sulfate is a pH-dropping reaction;The inlet nN ∶ ns,average inlet mass concentration of NH4+-N and SO42 and HRT all had effects on the nitrogen-sulfur conversion ratio of S-ANAMMOX reaction,which meant the S-ANAMMOX reaction was a multi-step reaction.
