Abstract
Senile pruritus refers to the skin disease with skin itching as the major manifestation without pri-mary skin lesions in clinic. In modern medicine,it is held that the disease etiology is complex,and there is no effective treatment for the itching. In this paper,senile pruritus was treated from deficiency of heart yin and blood,and the related theory,therapeutic principle and formulas were also discussed. The causes of se-nile pruritus was mainly due to deficiency of heart qi and yin,with internal wind due to yin deficiency. The major therapeutic principles included tranquilizing heart and mind,tonifying heart blood,nourishing body flu-ids to give corresponding herbs. Only in this way,the itching could be stopped and seldom recurred. The commonly used herbs were Shenglonggu,Duancishi,Shijueming,Zhenzhumu,Shouwuteng,Suanzaoren,Hehuanpi, Yuanzhi,Baihe,Maidong,Fangfeng. The formula could be modified according to the complications,and the ef-fect was satisfactory.关键词
