Correlation between transluminal attenuation gradient and transluminal diameter gradient during CT coronary angiography

摘要

Abstract

Objective To assess the effect of coronary artery diameter on the transluminal attenuation gradient(TAG)by 320 row com-puted tomography(CT)coronary angiography,and to explore the correlation between TAG and transluminal diameter gradient(TDG). Methods Totally 35 patients underwent CT coronary angiography with 320 row CT scanner and invasive coronary angiography. TAGs and TDGs of 105 coronary arteries from 35 patients were measured. The correlation between TAG and TDG was performed using Spearman correlation analysis. In addition,the Mann-Whitney U test was performed for the comparison of TDG between TAG-positive and TAG-negative arteries. Results A significant correlation was found between TAG and TDG in total arteries(r = 0. 525,P <0. 001). There was a significant correlation between TAG and TDG in normal group(r = 0. 567,P < 0. 01)and lesion group(r =0. 532,P < 0. 01). The TDG value of positive TAG was significantly higher than that of negative TAG(P < 0. 001). There was signifi-cant difference in TDG values between normal group and lesion group(P < 0. 05). Conclusion TAG exhibits a significant correlation with TDG. The change of coronary artery diameter is an important factor affecting the attenuation of coronary artery,implying that TAG may be a secondary result of difference in diameters.
