Abstract
In a highly renewable power system,it will have to dispatch a large amount of peaking power to accommodate the renewable energy's spike power that makes a very small proportion of the total renewable energy,which will reduce the safety and economics of the power system.If a certain amount of renewable energy is allowed to be abandoned,the system's overall demand of peaking power will decrease,and subsequently the peak power source construction can be reduced and the expensive cost of marginal accommodation can be avoided.The paper discusses for the first time the reasonable energy curtailment problem in the mid-and-long term power system expansion planning.By using the GESP power planning software,the reasonable energy curtailment rate and the system planning cost under the curtailment rate is calculated for the safety and economics of power system.It is concluded that the reasonable energy curtailment rate of the regional grids in China is 3%~ 10% in 2020.关键词
