Determination of Cross Passage Spacing in Double-Track Tunnel for High Speed Railway under Random Parking Mode

Abstract
For train fire rescue in double-track tunnel for high speed railway,the most unfavorable conditions for evacuation were defined as:lost power train with its head on fire,random stop right in front of cross passage and uphill evacuation route.With Fire Dynamic Simulator (FDS),the fire simulation model under such unfavorable conditions was established to determine the available safety egress time (ASET).The simulation software EVAC was adopted to calculate the required safety egress time (RSET) according to different evacuation speed.The optimal cross passage spacing was determined under the control condition for safety egress time that ASET must be greater than RSET when the smoke visibility at the characteristic height of human eye was less than 10 m.Results show that when the cross passage spacing is 500 and 400 m respectively,the corresponding ASET is less than RSET,which does not meet the control condition for safety egress time.When the cross passage spacing is 300 m,the corresponding ASET is greater than RSET,which can meet the control condition for safety egress time and the evacuation can be carried out safely.Accordingly,the proposed cross passage spacing in double-track tunnel for high speed railway should be 300 m.关键词
