Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of breast-conserving surgery combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) and the impacts on postoperative metastasis.Methods A total of 106 patients with LABC to receive treatment in our hospital were selected as study subjects and divided into a study group and a control group according to different therapies.The control group was treated with pure breast modified radical surgery and the study group with breast-conserving surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.The effects,changes in serological indexes,incidence of complications,recurrence rate and distant metastasis between the two groups were compared.Results The overall response rate (ORR) in the study group was 86.79％,which was higher than that in the control group of 67.92％(P ＜ 0.05).The levels of preoperative VEGFA,MMP2 and MMP9 in the study group were lower than those upon admission and those before the operation in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the study group (13.21％) was significantly lower than that in the control group of 43.40％(P ＜ 0.05).One year after the operation,the quality of life (QOL) scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P ＜ 0.05);the distant metastasis rate and recurrence rate were 0 and 3.77％ respectively in the study group and 9.43％ and 15.09％ in the control group,and the rates in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Breast-conserving surgery combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy has obvious effects in the treatment of LABC,can inhibit the malignant biological behavior of tumor,lower post-operative recurrence rate and distant metastasis rate and improve the quality of life.关键词
