Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to discuss the effect of telephone interviewaccess to the pain of patients in the initial stage of orthodontic treatment,and the effect of orthodontic treatment on the patients with different personality traits and emotional types.Methods One hundred and twenty patients were divided into two groups,according to whether have a telephone interview after the initial archwires were placed.All patients were completed eysenck personality questionnaire(EPQ)to determine the patients 'personality traits and emotional types before treatment,and apply Visual analogue scale(VAS)to assess patients pain intensity and change within a week.Results The pain intensity of the telephone group was significantly lower than that of the control group within one week,the difference was statistically significant at 24h(P<0.05),the difference was more significant at 2～6d(P<0.01).In the telephone group and the control group,the intensity of pain was significantly lower than that of the control group.The pain intensity of emotional stability was significantly lower than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Telephone interviews can reduce the patient's pain in the initial stage of orthodontic treatment consciously,and play a greater role in patients with extroversion and emotional stability.关键词
