Abstract

The sliding sleeve can't be opened and the fracturing operation can't work well for the serious erosion of cone surface of the ball seat for fracturing. The model of ball seat for fracturing was established and the causes of erosion were analyzed based on the theory of solid-liquid two-phase flow and erosion. The influences of erosion for ball seat were studied in displacement, particle concentration, particle size and viscosity of fracturing fluid by the method of controlling variables. Through the analysis, the erosion rate of the ball seat was increased with the increase of displacement and particle concentration of fracturing fluid. The erosion rate of the ball seat was decreased with the increase of particle diameter and viscosity of fracturing fluid. In order to reduce ball seat erosion, the erosion of different cone angle and the structure of the ball seat were analyzed, which indicated that the angle of 20°~30° was the most reasonable for cone surface of ball seat, and the erosion of ball seat was low with the cone surface of concave structure and double angle structure. It is expected that the results can be used to improve horizontal well ball staged fracturing technique and guide the fracturing operation.
