Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of prodigiosin on the proliferation, cycle and apoptosis of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE-2. Methods MTT, DAPI staining and flow cytometry were used to check the proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of CNE-2 cells after treatment with different concentrations of prodigiosin at 72 h. Results Prodigiosin inhibited CNE-2 cell proliferation in a concentration and time-dependent manner, and the inhibition rate of 24 μg/ mL prodigiosin on CNE-2 cells at 24 h reached to 94.5％. Prodigiosin arrested CNE-2 cell cycle at G2 phase and induced cell apoptosis in a time and dose-dependent manner. After 8 μg/ mL prodigiosin treatment, the ratio of G2 phase was 23.93％at 24 h and the ratio of apoptosis was 16.24％ at 72 h, which was significantly different in comparison with the control group ( P<0.05) . Conclusion Prodigiosin can effectively promote cell apoptosis and regulate cell cycle in human CNE-2 cells.关键词
